The Wellbeing Room
Season 2, Ep. 5 - The intersection of writing, yoga and creative wellbeing with Sophie Green - Author and Publisher
Welcome to The Wellbeing Room!
In this episode, I interview Sophie Green, a Sydney based author and publisher.
In her stories, Sophie explores the themes of friendship, love, grief and loss, family obligations, self-forgiveness and self-compassion, all under the backdrop of uniquely Australian settings.
I reached out to Sophie recently after she posted a series of 30 tips for sustaining a creative practice on Instagram and Facebook. I highly recommend checking them out (links below).
Sophie is also a yoga teacher and has been practising yoga since 1993.
There was no doubt in my mind that Sophie would have some wonderful stories to share on The Wellbeing Room and I'm grateful she accepted my invitation to come on the show.
In this interview, Sophie shares:
- how her love of country music inspired her writing career
- the family trips that fostered her love of the Australian landscape, which are the backdrops for her stories
- the value of planning in the writing process whilst also being flexible to changes
- how the Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin has helped inform her understanding of how she works with the creative process
- how she came to do yoga and her journey to becoming a yoga teacher
- the correlation between yoga and writing as creative practices
- one thing that has improved her wellbeing and enables her to get more out of life.
